29th November, Editing in imovie.

We are sill editing our clips together in imovie. On one of our chorus's where we have a rude innuendo of them shaking a wii controller remote therefore to keep in theme with our song, we wanted to have a blurred effect over the wii remote controller, and also have a "Censored" text screen flash in-between the two clips to make out to the audience something rude is happening. Later through the chorus we reveal they are just playing on the wii video game.

Example of the text "CENSORED" we have imported in to imovie from Photoshop as a still image.

Hopefully we are going to film tomorrow, Basically the weather is due to snow and we have to travel by car to the swimming pool. We are going to go again to our pool location to film the next chorus scenes. We have a time slot for the pool at 3pm for an hour till 4pm. All actors are free and committed to film within this time. Hopefully the snow will still allow us to drive up there and not be too severe.

Editing song on iMovie

Editing in Mac suite.
Today we are carrying on editing our song. Firstly we are just roughly bringing all the clips together to match in time with the song. We have edited quick cuts at the start of our song to create a flashing effect from one character to the other.

A Slight Hitch. Thursday 25th Nov Lesson

This week we have again filmed. We were planning on finishing the filming this week, but we had a slight problem. When we got to our important location, of the swimming pool, which we could only film on a Tuesday 3-4pm when there is nobody in the pool, (the actors and everything else was ready, but when we came to film, we noticed that there was no battery in the camera. It was partly our fault, as we didn't check the bag before we went to our location, but it was also partly the technical guy's fault, whose job is to put all the equipment together to help us along. We then managed for one of us to drive to college to pick up this important battery, and went back to a new location, Kali's house, and filmed an hour's work there. This did help but we were planning on finishing then. So we have to go back to the pool next Tuesday 3-4pm, and hopefully that will be it.

New and improved ideas...

Due to the problems we faced when we first filmed, we have thought of a new idea to base our video around.  The song is called uncensored and we want to make the most of this, so we are using sexual innuendos to create a humorous and interesting video, we got our inspiration from a recent advert in which JLS are playing a game on the wii, however to begin with it looks like they could be doing something else.
Here is our detailed plan of what we are going to do next time we film, which will hopefully result in much better footage that we are then able to edit...

First attempts of filming

We filmed some of our music video, realising that the lighting was very poor and our ideas did not look as effective as we first thought.
Also, we've had to change our idea, we are now going to create small scenes throughout, of rude innuendos, which we will show to the audience as uncensored. For example in our pool location. One of the boys will walk in with a towel then drop it. This is all being uncensored but then the audience later finds out, he was wearing shorts and got the wrong idea.

Making our website background....

We wanted, as a group, a groovy background, which looked fun, random and exciting. We googled this and found the perfect image...but when we showed our teacher, he told us that all of the images had to be our own images.

We then used our initiative, and got a piece of black card and lots of different coloured paints and then took a picture of it. Now we just have to decide which one did, to use.

This is Kali, showing that she is painting for our background.

This is the finish product and one of them will be our background.
We wanted the colours to stand out more in the images we created, Therefore in photoshop we played around with adjusting the levels of colour, brightness and contrast levels to try and make the colours stand out more.
This is the picture we have chose to use for our website
This is the one we chose to use after it had been edited on photoshop, we are pleased with the result :)

DISASTER!

Two of our actors, who are twins, are unable to commit to our video, due to lack of free time to make our shoots. There reason is completely valid and we understand that they cannot do it, But we haven't been able to draft anyone else in, so we have made our 'boy-band' into a two man boy-band.

Test Shots...initial designs for our actors

The following sheets are our Test shots for our characters in our music video.
Niall

Joe

All our actors for our music video are confident and are willing to wear bold, bright and coloured skimpy clothing, have their hair spiked and designed unusually and wear eye makeup.  Our initial design ideas are inspired by the conventions of pop genre clothes.  The pop genre represents a mood of happy, vibrant, loud and a fun setting, We wanted to portray this mood in the clothes our actors wear as it suits with the upbeat and fun tempo of our song.

Katy Perry's website analysis

Website analysis sheet

The artist Katy Perry music is in the same genre of ours being pop/rock. Analysing and researching her website gave us an insight into general conventions used in pop genre web pages, therefore we were able to gain bold ideas for our own website.

Kesha's websie analysis

Website analysis sheet.

Ke$ha is the artist who we have used our song from. Analysing and researching ke$ha's web page shows us her image, personality and her whole concept as an artist, as we are using one of her songs it gives us many ideas what we could use because obviously the song was initially wrote and made for her.
